I'll have a whole big thing on this tomorrow. Just hard to throw 2,000 words together at once. This is a big move, obviously. |

Indeed, when you consider they can put Savvy on LTIR again and have close to 9M in cap space |

Bruins would be a really scary team if they can add another impact player(top 4 D/top 6 F) |

I'm not going to be surprised if they kick the tires on bringing Michael Ryder back into the picture. The obvious big-fish is Iginla, but I doubt they get him. |

too old, back problems, and the flames are gonna want too much for him I think the Bruins pass on that I liked Ryder but his inconsistency kills me |

You know their infatuation with him, though. Obsessed with him. Then again, so is the rest of the league. |

If he doesn't play this year, doesn't he become a FA this summer? |

I would be open to bringing back Ryder, he knows the system and would slide right into that 3rd line wing slot. Bourque just isn't doing it for me, not as a long term solution. I don't think he has what it takes to be a legit top 9 forward, especially on this team. I think it is going to be tough to find a trade partner this year, a lot of teams will be kicking tires on guys. Prices will be high. |

If the Islanders do not "toll" his contract, yes he walks at the end of this year. Meaning the Islanders have the option to suspend him this year and retain his rights for next year or let the contract run out. |

A leafs post is crapping on other teams and mgmt.. ie. Mike Gillis and the canucks to deter attention away from the media crap fest that is always on their team. |

Because offering Bruins fans Kessel back (a player I know the Bruins and their fans don't want, and take great glee in raping Burke for Hamilton and Seguin), is obviously the same thing as what you're describing. thanks pal. |

I honestly think last year at the deadline the front office got depth players because the market sucked and they weren't sold on the team's chances so they didn't overpay like they did for Kaberle.
This year has so many more variables in play; short schedule, possible early deals, more cap room, the team looks great so far, they don't mind spending to the cap, the core of the team is young, etc. These things point more in the direction of a trade deadline looking like 2 years ago instead of last year.
Or I have no idea what I'm talking about |
